Before you start

  • The days and hours you take bookings, with any breaks.
  • The dates of your next holiday or time away.

Step 1: Open your availability

Your weekly hours and your time off live on one page.

  1. In a wide window, select Settings, then Availability.

  2. On a phone or a narrow window, open Account, then Settings and Availability.

Done when: Weekly hours and Time off show.

Step 2: Set your weekly hours

Clients can only book inside these hours.

  1. Start with your first working day: turn it on with its switch and set when you open and close.

  2. Select Add break for a lunch break. On a phone it is the + beside the times.

  3. Switch on the other days you work, then select Copy Monday to all open days: the button names your first open day and copies its hours, breaks included, only to days already open.

Done when: each day you work shows its hours, and the others read Closed.

Step 3: Save your hours

Nothing changes for clients until you save.

  1. In the Unsaved changes bar at the bottom, select Save.

  2. Keep at least one day open: a week with every day closed does not save.

Done when: Weekly hours saved shows.

Heads-up

Appointments you already have stay. Any that no longer fit your hours are marked for review, never canceled.

Step 4: Block time off

Time off removes those times from your booking page.

  1. Under Time off, select Add time off.

  2. Leave Who should be blocked? on Entire company, then pick a Block type: Specific time slot for a few hours, or One or more full days for a holiday.

  3. Set the dates and times, add a Reason if you like, and select Create blocked time.

Done when: Blocked time saved shows and the time off is in the list.

Create blocked time dialog: who is blocked, block type, date, start and end time and an optional reason

Step 5: Decide about bookings in that time

If clients already booked that time, SkedEz asks before it saves.

  1. Select Keep them and block the time to keep those appointments.

  2. Or select Cancel them and block the time: their clients are told.

Done when: the time off is saved and you know what happened to those appointments.

Step 6: Check your calendar

Time off shows in your calendar as time no one can book.

  1. Open Appointments: the time off is hatched.

  2. For a quick block from the calendar, select New, then Block time. On a phone, New is the + button.

  3. Time off cannot be edited: open its … menu under Time off, select Delete and add it again.

Done when: your booking page offers no times inside your time off.

FAQ

Hours and time off questions

Can I block time for one team member only?

Yes. In Who should be blocked?, choose Specific team member and pick the person. The rest of the team stays bookable.

Can time off repeat every week?

No. Time off covers one stretch of time. For a gap every week, close that day or add a break to your weekly hours.

Do my hours change bookings I already have?

No. New hours apply to new bookings. SkedEz flags existing appointments that fall outside them, so you can decide what to do.
